Everyone loves pulling on jeans. A great pair of jeans is not only a weekend, wardrobe staple but also can be quite an investment. After you have combed through the various, available jean styles, fabrics, washes and fits, selecting the "right" jeans will transform your look and boost your confidence. Once you have your new favorite "go to" jeans, you will want to take extra laundry care to keep them looking their best. First Wash. We know you can't wait to show off your new denim - but the first step in ensuring your jeans remain that vibrant blue and are color transfer free is to wash them. The experts at The Suds Bucket know the indigo dye used in the process to manufacture jeans can color bleed. To minimize the bleed, we wash dark denim jeans with like colors, and cold water. Cold water is more gentle on fabric dyes and will not cause your jeans to shrink. To prevent snags and forgotten item issues, we always check pockets and close buttons and zippers.

If you find Jeans that enhance and show off your style, follow these laundry tips..of our guests ask: How often should I wash my jeans? We suggest washing your jeans every three to five wears or whenever they smell/appear dirty. Caring for your jeans yourself? Follow the Care Instructions label. This label contains important information to properly launder your denim. Following the care instructions will help lengthen the useful life of your denim and should be followed to prevent fading shrinking and avoid dye transfer. At The Suds Bucket, we spot treat stains (and you should also!) When you notice a small stain, you don't necessarily need to wash your whole jeans. Try to determine if the stain is dirt, ink, grease, etc. If the stain appears to be grease or oil, dab the spot with a cloth containing few drops of water and Dawn liquid dish detergent. If it’s an ink stain, try a stain remover. The experts at The Suds Bucket use different commercially available chemicals to lift stains. However, for do-it-yourselfers, household products can sometimes help - e.g. hairspray, rubbing alcohol, or cornstarch can remove many types of stains. Detergent, Detergent, Detergent. Select a detergent that protects from discoloration and fading. Avoid bleach as bleach will degrade the indigo dye. The Experts at The Suds Bucket make our own powder detergent and vinegar (a natural softener) to help neutralize odors and set the color. Choose the Gentle / Delicate Cycle. Unless they are heavily soiled, one of the most effective ways to keep your jeans from fading is to wash denim on the gentle / delicate cycle. This cycle reduces unnecessary friction between other fabrics. Hang your jeans to dry or follow the care label. At home, most jeans should skip the dryer and hang dry. Again, check the care instructions label for best guidance. As dryer heat can cause the fibers to shrink, you may wish to line dry or let them dry on a flat surface. At The Suds Bucket, our attendants employ a medium heat with a tumble dry. To minimize wrinkles, your clothes are never allowed to "rest" before we "drawer ready" fold and package them for pick up.
